Most preparation teaches you what to do: when to go in, how to breathe, what to pack. This course starts somewhere quieter. Birth is a physiological process your body already takes part in, and understanding it changes how you meet it.
It may be for you if:
What’s inside
Each module is a short guided audio of five to eight minutes that you can return to as often as you like. A welcome video from Deb opens the course, and a closing video ends it.
Birth belongs to the same living process that has carried your pregnancy so far, and starts with what your body is already doing.
Hormones, nervous system, uterus, and baby are always signalling. Learn to recognize that conversation instead of managing it.
Rhythm, expectation, and what changes when you notice a fear or a hope without rushing to fix it.
Your baby takes part in birth too. You meet it together, in a relationship that has already begun.
A simple practice for when your mind travels ahead: notice where your attention went, and come back.
Light, sound, privacy, and the people in the room all reach your physiology. That gives you choices, not control.
A contraction begins, builds, and releases. You never have to meet more than the moment you are in.
Bringing it together, so you can recognize where you are in birth and find yourself within it.
A printable PDF with a page or two for each module and room to write. Each lesson suggests where to look, and every page is optional.
Three short audio practices to return to whenever you need them.

No. How Birth Works is education about the physiology of birth, not medical care. Keep working with your own care provider. You can take it alongside a hospital or community birth class.
